Amplitude appoints Wade Chambers as Chief Engineering Officer

Amplitude has appointed Wade Chambers as its first Chief Engineering Officer. Chambers brings over 25 years of engineering leadership experience to the digital analytics platform company. He will be leading Amplitude's Engineering organisation and focusing on enhancing product innovation within the firm.

This announcement follows the recent introduction of Amplitude's simplified platform experience, termed Amplitude Made Easy. The company also launched Snowflake Native Amplitude through a strategic partnership with HubSpot and improved its data governance capabilities. Chambers is expected to further expand Amplitude's current offerings, which include Analytics, Session Replay, CDP, and Experiment.

Amplitude CEO and co-founder, Spenser Skates, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment. Skates noted, "I've known Wade for a long time—he's been an advisor to us for more than eight years, and I've learned a huge amount about engineering, management, and leadership from him. Wade is a first-principles thinker, a phenomenal mentor and manager, and one of the very best engineering leaders for this stage of company in the industry. I'm thrilled he'll now be with us in-house."

Chambers has a documented history of driving innovation and fostering collaboration at several prominent technology companies. Before joining Amplitude, he was the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering at Included Health. His extensive experience includes leading engineering teams at Twitter, TellApart, Proofpoint, Yahoo, Opsware, and Netscape. He has also been an advisor to cybersecurity firm Abnormal Security and open data lakehouse specialist Starburst.
