AliExpress celebrates 15 years with UK market focus

AliExpress is marking its 15th anniversary this month by reaffirming its dedication to the UK market with enhancements in logistics and consumer service.

Since its inception in 2010, AliExpress has grown significantly, impacting the e-commerce sector on a global scale. The platform now services over 150 million consumers in more than 200 countries, supported by extensive product categories, improved logistics, and personalised shopping experiences. In recent years, AliExpress has boosted its operations across Europe, focusing on tailoring its offerings to meet local consumers' requirements.

According to AliExpress, UK consumers have shown strong purchasing patterns in categories such as kitchen gadgets, lighting, consumer electronics, and fashion. These categories have emerged as favourites, contributing heavily to the platform's sales by order volume. The rising interests in sports and home improvement products also demonstrate consumers' increasing inclination towards fitness and home décor. In addition, demand for pet products like beds and smart interactive toys remains robust.

Reflecting on the past decade and a half, the importance of e-commerce in modern retail continues to grow, driven by advances in technology and changing shopper behaviours. AliExpress has made significant contributions to this transformation by providing a wide range of affordable, high-quality products and setting new standards for online shopping convenience and accessibility.

In celebration of its anniversary, AliExpress is hosting a March Anniversary Sale from 17th to 26th March, offering discounts of up to 80% along with coupons and prizes. The sale is also bolstered by product recommendations from nearly 100 local influencers, including well-known figures such as Rebecca Vieira and Kerry Katona, who offer curated product selections.

As part of its anniversary activities, AliExpress is contributing to community initiatives by supporting the planting of 10,000 trees in the North East Community Forest. This effort is facilitated in partnership with Veritree, and planting is slated to begin in April 2025.

The platform continues to emphasize customer satisfaction through enhanced services. These include improved delivery options, with local deliveries achievable in three days and cross-border shipments within seven days. Furthermore, customers benefit from free shipping on eligible orders and hassle-free returns, enhancing the ease and reliability of the shopping experience.
