Yesterday

JLL's Project and Development Services (PDS) has announced the consolidation of its design services under a single global entity named JLL Design. This move aims to enhance the delivery of design solutions across the workplace, retail, and hospitality sectors.

JLL Design is a global design consultancy comprising over 600 professionals in 65 studios across more than 30 countries. Cynthia Kantor, Chief Executive Officer of Project & Development Services, emphasised the integration of creativity, innovation, and global expertise offered by JLL Design. "Guided by creativity, innovation and global expertise, JLL Design transforms spaces and inspires people, making the team a trusted strategic advisor for our clients' current and future design needs," she stated. Kantor highlighted the consultancy's comprehensive knowledge of the real estate ecosystem in its approach.

The consolidation aims to provide global and local clients with consistent and brand-aligned design services; IT was formerly under Design Solutions. The expanded offerings cover data-driven design strategy, branding, visual identity, interior design, and furniture solutions. By leveraging a global network, JLL Design ensures a consistent service catering to universal and local brand needs.

Nicasio Gutiérrez, PDS Global Head of Design, elaborated on the consultancy's mission. "JLL Design will continue to reimagine and transform how space can impact people, culture, and performance into solutions that shape the future of our clients' business," he said. Gutiérrez pointed to the consultancy's ability to address clients' evolving needs, drive innovation, and integrate broader real estate strategies.

JLL Design's leadership includes Romeu Carpinteiro, responsible for global operations; Adrian Davidson, who leads global strategic design advisory for workplaces; and Stephen Jay, who oversees retail and branding design aspects, particularly in the Americas. Emma Luyt takes on the role of leading design studios and global Furniture Solutions. At the same time, Gonzalo Portellano handles global growth and sales strategy, continuing to lead in the Asia-Pacific region.

Through the enhanced alignment, JLL Design seeks to meet client needs with technology-enabled solutions that accommodate changing work patterns. Their focus is on creating adaptable workspace designs supporting diverse work modes. The consultancy also brings significant expertise to retail clients, offering brand-led design experience for cohesive omnichannel customer journeys, as noted in their recent Outlook on Design Trends 2025.

Regarding furniture solutions, JLL Design offers bespoke, multi-brand services designed to meet specific client requirements and sustainable options through furniture reuse. This approach aligns with the growing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly design choices.

Ranked among Interior Design's 2025 Top 100 Giants, including sixth in office design and fourth in retail design, JLL Design is recognised for its efforts and capabilities in creating functional and innovative spaces. The consultancy helps translate complex design challenges into practical solutions by supporting projects from start to finish.
