Today

KOMI Group, a digital media company based in Manchester, has announced significant revenue growth and audience expansion, reporting a 45% increase in annual turnover and a 77% rise in Q4 revenues compared to the previous year.

Established in 2016 from a Facebook page known as It's Gone Viral, the company has expanded to become a global digital media entity under the leadership of Founder Andrew Trotman and Group Managing Director Sam Lenehan. The team, comprising 120 employees, now manages a portfolio of over 40 social media brands that generate over four billion monthly views and reach an audience of over 150 million people globally.

In the last four years, KOMI Group has expanded its audience twentyfold by engaging diverse and international demographics on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Snapchat. Since 2021, the company has completed four strategic acquisitions, including the media brands Happiest, Get Lost, and The Tradesmen, strengthening its presence in niche market sectors while ensuring continued growth.

Two growth capital investments from BGF, a prominent investor in high-growth businesses in the UK and Ireland, have notably supported the group's growth. These investments include an initial round in November 2022 and an additional GBP £5.5 million in July 2024, totalling over GBP £10 million. These funds are allocated to international expansion, strategic mergers and acquisitions, and talent acquisition.

In 2025, KOMI will prioritise its international expansion strategies, particularly focusing on the North American market. Plans to establish a dedicated US team align with the company's global commitment to curate the most engaged digital audiences.

KOMI Group maintains a diversified business model encompassing digital publishing, talent management, and content licensing, which allows it to navigate the fast-paced digital media environment. The company's in-house tool, KOMI Insights, is key in leveraging real-time data to detect trends, optimise content, and deliver measurable results to clients, creators, and advertisers.

Andrew Trotman, Founder of KOMI Group, stated, "Our mission has always been clear: to build the world's most engaged digital audiences. This drives everything we do. By providing people with content they want to watch, in a place they're going to watch it, while reacting rapidly to platform trends, we've been able to grow sustainably and continually expand our reach. We're excited to keep innovating and finding new ways to entertain and engage audiences around the world."

Sam Lenehan, Group Managing Director, added, "Our success is rooted in the structure and culture we've built across the business. We've created a scalable, sustainable model that allows us to deliver real value for audiences, creators, and partners alike. 2025 will be a transformative year as we continue expanding internationally, strengthening our operations, and unlocking the full potential of the platform we have now built and tested."
