Mozart AI secures USD $730,000 to launch next-gen music DAW
London-based Mozart AI has secured USD $730,000 in pre-seed funding to advance its artificial intelligence-powered Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), aimed at streamlining music creation for artists while maintaining their artistic control.
The pre-seed funding round was led by EWOR, with participation from New Renaissance Ventures, Stefan Glaenzer, Atlantis Ventures, and entrepreneur Felix Jahn. The investment will be directed toward scaling the Mozart AI product and expanding its team in preparation for a public launch scheduled for mid-July 2025.
Daniel Dippold, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at EWOR, highlighted the team's rapid progress in developing their initial product.
"Just 10 days after joining EWOR, Sundar, Arjun, and the team had built a first version of the product. They move at light speed,"
said Dippold.
The Co-Producer Model
Unlike traditional generative music tools that automatically create full tracks, Mozart AI acts as an AI co-producer. It interprets natural language commands from artists and converts these instructions into engineered musical outputs at a professional standard. This approach enables musicians to iteratively develop their work while delegating technical tasks to the AI and maintaining creative agency.
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Sundar Arvind explained the concept behind Mozart AI.
"We're eliminating friction, not creativity. Mozart AI was created to unlock creativity at the speed of inspiration, where every idea becomes a professional-grade song in minutes, not months."
The DAW is designed to process commands such as, "Hey Mozart, create a euphoric 8-bar chord pattern and EQ the lows out", and deliver results in seconds—a process that typically requires specialised expertise and considerable time.
Founders with Diverse Experience
Mozart AI's founding team comprises individuals with backgrounds in both music and technology. Sundar Arvind, who was signed with Spinnin' Records by age 14 and has amassed over 2 million streams on Spotify, leads the team. He is joined by Arjun Khanna, a former professional debater with international representation, Pascual Merita Torres, who holds a master's degree in artificial intelligence and has over a decade's experience in music production, and Immanuel Rajadurai, an AI researcher and professional bassist.
The co-founders have previously collaborated on Blitzo, an AI-powered delivery platform that reached GBP £1.3 million in annual recurring revenue.
Feedback from Producers
Early users have provided positive assessments of the platform. London-based producer Max Sarre commented on his experience:
"I've avoided AI in my production for years, but Mozart felt empowering. The speed of suggestions and iterations is insane – feels like working with an AI replica of myself."
Similarly, LA-based producer Danny White, who has collaborated with the electronic music artist Tiësto, stated:
"I was very impressed by how text prompts could perform tedious tasks instantly. This is the next big leap in music production."
Ethical use of AI
Mozart AI has set out its ethical stance on artificial intelligence in music. The company does not train its technology on copyrighted material and does not generate complete songs. This approach, the team states, allows artists to remain the principal creative force while AI addresses routine and complicated engineering tasks.
The public launch of Mozart AI's platform is set for mid-July 2025, with more than 25,000 users already registered on its waitlist.
