Yesterday

Canon EMEA has announced that Shinichi 'Sam' Yoshida will take over as President & CEO of Canon Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) following the retirement of Yuichi Ishizuka after a 44-year career with the company.

Yoshida, who is currently based in the USA, holds the role of Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Marketing Strategy Unit, as well as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Canon Solutions America, Inc. and Canon Financial Services, Inc. He is set to begin his new position on 1st March 2025.

The EMEA region is a significant part of Canon's business, contributing about a quarter of the company's annual global revenue, with operations in 120 countries and approximately 12,300 employees.

Yoshida will be responsible for enhancing Canon's established core businesses and leveraging the brand's reputation in imaging and printing technology to explore avenues such as B2B Imaging, Industrial and Commercial Printing, and Information Management Solutions.

Yoshida's background includes significant experience in manufacturing, having been involved in setting up Canon Virginia, Inc., a major manufacturing site in the Americas. He stated, "Canon is the market leader in imaging and print technologies with millions of customers throughout EMEA; this diverse and exciting region is full of opportunity and I am honoured to be leading the business through the next phase of innovation and growth."

Yuichi Ishizuka held several senior positions globally throughout his career, with particular success in launching the Cinema EOS range in the US, a line that has been influential in film production.
