TrueRights appoints Manon Dave to lead creative AI strategy

Yesterday

Manon Dave has been appointed as Chief Product Officer at TrueRights, a digital rights management platform focused on creators and brands.

Dave, a creative technologist, music producer, and songwriter with two decades of experience, joins TrueRights as debates over digital intellectual property, content ownership, and talent rights intensify across media sectors.

His initial responsibility at TrueRights involves establishing a Creative Council, which will serve as an advisory group to shape the company's strategies on creativity and artificial intelligence. The Council's core aim is to ensure TrueRights' approach remains in line with creators' requirements as technology evolves, particularly in an environment increasingly affected by AI developments.

Working alongside founders Ben Woollams and Nick Jenkins, Dave is set to leverage his experience in both creative industries and technology to enhance the platform's offering. Woollams previously co-founded Influencer, while Jenkins is noted for his tenure at Meta.

TrueRights offers a secure environment for talent and brands to manage their digital content and licensing. Its platform provides tools for maintaining control over content, intellectual property, and associated rights, amid a growing market for generative AI content and a surge in reported deepfake fraud attempts.

Addressing his new role, Manon Dave said: "I am thrilled to join TrueRights at such a pivotal moment – not just for the company, but for the creative industry as a whole. TrueRights is more than just a platform - it's the most trusted and validated solution for talent and creators like myself who want the confidence that their IP is protected, while embracing the potential of AI that's safe, ethical and on their own terms.

"With AI reshaping how we create, there's never been a more critical time to empower creators while protecting what makes their work unique. My mission is to ensure TrueRights continues to lead that charge – supporting creative community and making sure that the creators stay ahead of the curve."

TrueRights was designed to assist rightsholders in protecting their work from unauthorised use, supporting creators' efforts to maintain digital control in a rapidly shifting content landscape. The company has implemented a traceable 'Stamp' that provides end-to-end transparency for content usage, alongside a calculator that introduces standardised pricing for creator content, facilitating accurate payments and more efficient licensing by brands.

Ben Woollams, Founder and CEO of TrueRights, commented: "Manon brings a unique blend of creative vision, technical intelligence and a drive for integrity. What sets him apart is his strong vested interest in providing solutions that protect talent at an urgent time. TrueRights was founded to rebuild trust in the industry, by providing a fairer, more transparent market for brand and talent collaborations. We are really excited for Manon to share this ambition in truly empowering creators to protect and license their IP safely, ethically, and on their own terms."

Manon Dave is known for several projects that integrate technology and cultural initiatives. Notable work includes collaborating with will.i.am and Mercedes-AMG on an adaptive musical driving experience, and developing Akuna Wallet, a blockchain-based payments solution with Idris Elba and the Stellar Development Foundation. He has also created tools intended to broaden access for creatives, such as an app called Talking Scripts, designed to assist dyslexic artists.

The move to bring Dave into this executive role follows a reported dramatic increase in digital fraud involving AI, highlighting the need for robust content security and transparent rights management. TrueRights aims to provide a standard for the industry as demands for new governance mechanisms and reliable solutions continue to rise among talent, managers, and brands seeking to navigate digital and AI-driven content licensing.
