UiPath acquires Peak to boost vertical AI solutions

Yesterday

UiPath, an enterprise automation and AI software provider, has announced the acquisition of Peak, an AI-native company based in Manchester. This strategic move is intended to bolster UiPath's vertical AI solutions strategy, combining Peak's purpose-built AI applications with UiPath's platform to optimise various industry use cases.

Peak's technology focuses on product inventory and pricing optimisation for organisations of all sizes while also offering a host of other AI-driven capabilities. By delivering tangible outcomes without the need for large in-house technology teams, Peak aims to democratise AI adoption across sectors. This acquisition promises broader reach for Peak's existing solutions, which are designed to streamline data processing and provide actionable predictions for critical business processes, whether through APIs or integrated web applications.

In a statement highlighting the significance of the acquisition, Daniel Dines, Founder and CEO of UiPath, said:
"With the acquisition of Peak, we are accelerating our mission to strengthen our vertical AI solutions strategy. When combined with the UiPath platform, Peak's exceptional purpose-built AI applications will enhance our ability to provide solutions that optimise industry-specific use cases and deliver incredible value to customers."

Peak's focus on enabling companies to develop AI workflows and make highly complex decisions is key to what UiPath hopes to expand on. Now integrated within UiPath's framework, Peak's solutions can potentially address new industries worldwide, leveraging the power of automation to spur growth and innovation. Peak also brings a suite of AI-based decisioning applications that help businesses plan inventory and refine product pricing decisions, thus providing a seamless bridge between raw data and practical, revenue-driving insights.

Richard Potter, CEO & Co-Founder of Peak, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and the shared vision for the future of AI:
"Joining forces with UiPath is the perfect next step for Peak at this stage of our journey, and I couldn't be more excited. As automation and agentic AI converge, we're entering a new era of possibilities for the enterprise. UiPath's global reach, deep enterprise expertise, and unwavering commitment to AI innovation will enable us to accelerate our vision—empowering businesses with specialised decision-making AIs at scale. We are incredibly proud of what we've built, and as part of UiPath, we look forward to delivering even greater value to our customers while pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI in the enterprise."

A central motivation behind UiPath's acquisition is to strengthen its agentic automation platform, which aims to help organisations handle complex calculations and analytics in various business processes. The intention is to enable more accurate analysis and dependable predictions so businesses can trust AI tools' recommendations. Peak's expertise will help power new Pricing and Inventory Agents for UiPath customers, offering real-time insights that factor into the orchestration capabilities of the agentic automation platform. The result, UiPath believes, will be autonomous processes that can adapt based on contextual customer data.

Customers of both UiPath and Peak are expected to benefit, potentially realising greater revenue and improved profit margins by combining their technologies. A notable example from the existing partnership is Heidelberg Materials, one of the world's largest building materials manufacturers based in the United Kingdom. Through the collaboration, UiPath and Peak transformed Heidelberg Materials' quoting and pricing process by automating data collection from hundreds of points and then applying AI to recommend optimal customer quotes. Sales professionals receive informed recommendations in a fraction of the time it once took, ultimately speeding up quotation times and boosting conversion rates.

By scaling Peak's solutions globally, UiPath underscores its ambition to broaden the use of AI in fields such as retail and manufacturing, among others. At the same time, Peak stands poised to accelerate the development of AI-driven applications under UiPath's global umbrella. Both organisations express confidence that this acquisition will usher in the next generation of vertical-oriented, AI-driven solutions powered by large language models and agentic automation.

With the integration of Peak's technology, UiPath is set to offer comprehensive decision intelligence capabilities for enterprises looking to innovate and stay competitive. As automation and AI continue to converge, businesses worldwide may see new opportunities to refine their operations, gain deeper insights into market demands, and ultimately become more agile in responding to ever-evolving commercial landscapes.
