Alan Sherman appointed VP of marketing at Gradient AI
Alan Sherman, a veteran in marketing and business development, has newly been appointed the vice president of marketing at Gradient AI, an AI solutions provider in the insurance industry.
A significant announcement from the Boston-based firm, following years of Sherman's demonstrated business acumen. Spanning over a quarter of a century, Sherman's career is marked by senior marketing and general management positions held in diverse industries.
Prior to his appointment at Gradient AI, Sherman notably served as the VP of marketing at Hebrew College for five years. His strategic marketing initiatives boosted enrolment and philanthropy, which contributed to increased market share and revenue growth. He also held a similar position at IntelliVid, a firm that provides smart video analysis solutions to the retail sector. In this role, Sherman played a crucial role in driving the company's marketing strategy and expanding its market presence, leading up to its acquisition by Tyco International.
Sherman's career is also punctuated by tenures at several high growth companies like OATSystems, a business that was taken over by Checkpoint Systems during his stint there. In this role, he contributed to growing the start-up to over $40MM in revenue within five years. His experience extends across various technology-based solutions including electronic displays, speech recognition, disparate data integration, video analytics, and RFID-based asset tracking.
Stan Smith, CEO and founder of Gradient AI, expressed his excitement about the new appointment. "Alan's extensive background in marketing leadership and proven track record of driving growth and innovation make him a valuable addition to our executive team." Smith highlighted the value Sherman brings to the company in supporting their mission "to empower insurers in the Group Health, P&C, and workers' compensation markets to leverage AI to more effectively and efficiently support and grow their businesses."
As VP of marketing, Sherman will spearhead Gradient AI's marketing strategy. His focus areas will revolve around amplifying brand visibility, initiating demand, and expediting the buyer's journey - all in light of the company's core mission. This hire reinforces Gradient AI's dedication to aiding insurers in improving their loss ratios and profitability by precisely predicting underwriting and claim risks and streamlining processes such as quote turnaround times and claims management using intelligent automation.
Joining a technology-forward company like Gradient AI, Sherman highlighted the potential AI brings to the insurance industry. "As AI has moved into the mainstream in so many industries and applications, insurers are similarly realizing the significant opportunities to leverage the many benefits of AI to enhance their underwriting and claims operations. Gradient AI is at the forefront in providing innovative AI solutions for the insurance industry and I'm looking forward to contributing to the company's continued growth and long-term success."
