Charlie Thompson appointed New Relic's EMEA leader

New Relic has announced the appointment of Charlie Thompson as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of EMEA.

Charlie Thompson will be responsible for driving growth and market expansion in the EMEA region. In his role, he will oversee sales initiatives and assist enterprises in utilising New Relic's platform to foster innovation, enhance reliability, and provide superior customer experiences.

Thompson brings nearly 20 years of experience in leading global sales teams within the technology sector. Prior to joining New Relic, he served as Senior Vice President of EMEA and LATAM for Appian, where he played a pivotal role in achieving substantial growth and building enterprise and partner businesses. His earlier career includes roles at Pegasystems, Detica, and Fujitsu.

Before transitioning to the corporate sector, Thompson served for 16 years in the British Army, retiring as a Major after multiple international tours. He is recognised for his ability to build high-performing teams and develop strategic partner ecosystems that drive customer success.

These include a partnership with NVIDIA for AI monitoring in applications using NVIDIA NIM, and the release of an integrated AI-strengthened digital experience monitoring solution, as well as New Relic Pathpoint. These developments aim to optimise digital application performance and reliability at scale for businesses of all sizes.
