Chatloop becomes experiences partner for Co-op Live arena

Fri, 21st Jun 2024

Manchester-based social app Chatloop has been appointed as the official "shared experiences" partner for Co-op Live, the UK's largest entertainment arena.

This new partnership aims to enhance live event experiences in the north-west of England, allowing audiences to engage with, share, and document their experiences in a novel way.

The collaboration comes as Co-op Live is fully immersed in its summer events calendar, which has already received praise from music legends like Liam Gallagher. Chatloop has been in beta mode since last year and allows users to scan QR codes around the venue to create and upload "Loops"—photos, videos, mentions, and comments. These are then added directly onto Co-op Live’s website for public viewing.

CEO and founder of Chatloop, Andrew Barlow, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership.

"We’re thrilled to announce the groundbreaking partnership with Co-op Live and Chatloop, set to truly transform live event experiences. The partnership sets a new benchmark for how technology can create more engaging, interactive and memorable experiences for fans worldwide."

CEO of Oak View Group, Tim Leiweke, which is a joint venture partner and operator of Co-op Live, echoed similar sentiments.

"It’s a great pleasure to partner with Chatloop to support Oak View Group and Co-op Live’s vision of fully enhancing the fan experience, and extending it long beyond the event itself," he said.

"Chatloop’s innovative expertise in fostering shared experiences makes them the perfect fit for Co-op Live, one of the most innovative live entertainment venues in the world."

The technology allows fans to interact with live events by uploading their experiences, which contributes to a collective story, thus amplifying the event's impact.

By scanning QR codes located around the venue, attendees can immediately upload their content to Co-op Live’s website, creating a digital footprint that persists long after the event.

Co-op Live is Manchester's latest arena and the largest indoor venue in the UK with a capacity of 23,500 seats. Hosting more than 120 events and expecting over a million fans in 2024, this strategic partnership aims to enhance audience interaction, brand visibility, and community impact using Chatloop's cutting-edge technology.

Chatloop's technology bridges the gap between live experiences and online community interactions. By transforming digital spaces into immersive experiences, the app makes it possible for brands to connect with their audiences more directly. Launched publicly last year, the app has already achieved accolades, including being awarded default browser status by Apple, a rare honour for a UK-based third-party app.

Barlow elaborated on the aspirations of the partnership.

"As the Shared Experience Partner, we plan to bring innovative digital sharing to every event, bridging the gap between the in-the-moment experience and online community interaction," he expressed. "We’re not just about enhancing the event, however; we’re creating a new experience where every fan is part of the story, every moment is shared, and every event sets the stage for engagement."

The collaboration marks Chatloop’s first partnership with a live music arena and aims to create more engaging, interactive, and memorable experiences for fans attending events at Co-op Live.

As Co-op Live continues to host significant events, the integration of Chatloop's technology will be closely monitored to assess its impact on the fan experience and community interaction. The partnership will utilise Chatloop's inventive technology to capture and elevate the shared experiences of millions of event attendees.
