Epiminds raises USD $6.6m to launch multi-agent AI for agencies
Epiminds, a Stockholm-based startup, has publicly launched from stealth and announced a USD $6.6 million funding round to develop multi-agent AI systems designed for marketing agencies.
The company was founded by Elias Malm, formerly of Google, and Mo Elkhidir, previously at Spotify and Kry. Their objective is to address inefficiencies in the marketing sector by introducing an AI-driven platform that simplifies agency workflows, reduces manual tasks, and allows marketing professionals to focus on strategy and creativity.
Addressing industry challenges
Marketing agencies face increasing pressure to provide greater transparency, faster results, and more measurable outcomes, all while dealing with shrinking budgets. Frequently, these challenges lead agencies to add new analytical dashboards or hire more specialists, which often results in higher costs and added complexity rather than improved performance. Epiminds aims to solve these issues using AI to automate key aspects of marketing campaigns from start to finish.
Central to Epiminds' platform is Lucy, an AI marketing manager that leads over 20 specialised agents working in areas such as reporting, optimisation, budget management, bidding, and creative development. Agencies using the system are able to onboard clients in under 30 seconds, gaining immediate access to a virtual team that can handle marketing activities end-to-end.
Lucy and her associated agents do not only identify insights but also execute associated actions, learn each agency's methods, and monitor accounts to highlight risks proactively. According to the founders, this technology allows marketers to shift their attention from administrative duties to higher-level strategy and creative work.
Founder insights
The concept behind Epiminds was influenced by both founders' personal experiences working in and with agencies. Elias Malm, having led agency partnerships at Google, observed how skilled professionals were often constrained by inefficient process and a reliance on manual data consolidation. Mo Elkhidir, a machine learning specialist, brought in expertise around multi-agent AI system design and implementation.
The realisation came during a weekend project in which the founders simulated the interactions of Sweden's population through AI. Upon noting the high proportion of marketers in the representation, the idea emerged to create an AI-powered team that could serve as a digital marketing workforce.
Backing and early adoption
Epiminds' USD $6.6 million funding round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with further backing from EWOR, Entourage, and a group of angel investors including the former CMO of Booking.com. Within twelve weeks from the company's conception, several agencies managing over 240 brands began using the platform.
Describing the broader impact, Mo Elkhidir, Co-Founder of Epiminds, said, "Marketers are under more pressure than ever to do more with less. Lucy and her team take on the busywork so that marketing talent can do their best work. This is not about replacing creativity; it's about giving it room to flourish."
"Our vision is simple. We're building Epiminds because we see where marketing is headed. The future is about dynamic, agentic teams that analyze, plan, execute, and improve in real time. Every marketer should have access to a 24/7 AI workforce that frees up their time for creativity and strategy. Our goal is to give them that future, today," Elias Malm added.
Agency and investor responses
Agencies trialling the system have reported faster onboarding and improved performance. John Axelsson, Founder & CEO of BBO, commented, "We've integrated EpiMinds into our advertising workflows. It has really started transforming how our specialists work by automating analysis and surfacing deep actionable insights, while we remain in control of strategic decisions. The result is faster optimization, more effective collaboration between human expertise and AI, and ultimately better outcomes for our clients."
Jenny Dettervik, Media Lead at Remotion, stated, "EpiMinds has become a valuable part of our workflow. By automating parts of our agency's know-how through AI agents, we can get insights faster, optimize more efficiently, and deliver higher quality to our clients."
Paul Murphy, Partner at Lightspeed, said, "As a former founder who relied heavily on performance marketing, I saw firsthand how difficult it is to scale campaigns across dozens of channels and geographies. Epiminds' multi-agent approach directly tackles that challenge, transforming the way agencies and brands operate. It's rare to see a team build something this ambitious, and we believe Epiminds has the potential to redefine how marketing gets done in the AI era."
Daniel Dippold, Co-Founder & CEO at EWOR, remarked, "Elias and Mo are the rare kind of founders that have what it takes to take a company from 0-1M ARR, from 1-100M, and from 100-infinity. They have both hustle and leadership, both speed and perfection, and both aggression and empathy. On both a rational and irrational level, I think and feel they will go far."
Commenting from Entourage, Pieterjan Bouten, Partner, said, "Ellias and Mo embody the urgency and operational excellence we look for in founders building in the AI era. A massive wave of innovation is reshaping how leading marketing agencies operate, and Epiminds is poised to be at the forefront of that transformation. We're thrilled to back these two exceptional founders early as they pursue this massive opportunity."
Future development
Epiminds intends to develop Lucy's capabilities further, increasing both the level of autonomy within the platform and the number of integrations with other systems. The goal is to ensure the AI team continues to learn and deliver value with every new feature added, sharing performance enhancements across all users on the network.
