UniTaskr has appointed Jenny Welsh as Head of Growth and Strategy to support the student work platform's next phase of international expansion.
Jenny Welsh, who has a background in scaling digital platforms and working with youth-focused brands, will be responsible for leading UniTaskr's growth strategy, with an emphasis on user acquisition, engagement, and monetisation. She will also oversee major campaigns, such as the "24 Under 24" initiative, which aims to highlight emerging talent across the UK, and will focus on building strategic partnerships with universities and employers.
UniTaskr was launched in 2019 by Joseph Black and Oliver Jacobs to connect students with flexible work opportunities. The platform currently has a workforce of 350,000 students and works with clients that include Adobe, Amazon, Uber Eats, and Red Bull. Since its inception, the platform has generated more than GBP £10 million in income for its student users.
Jenny Welsh expressed her enthusiasm for the new position, outlining her commitment to advancing opportunities for young people and supporting diversity in the technology sector.
"Helping young people to access opportunities to better themselves and set themselves up for the future is something I am very passionate about, so it's a pleasure to join UniTaskr. Aligning commercial growth with meaningful impact is the key to supporting as many young people as possible and contributing to our next phase of growth.
"As a strong advocate for female leadership in tech, I also see this role as a chance to help drive greater representation in an industry that still lacks gender diversity, particularly in startup growth and strategy roles."
Jenny Welsh brings experience across operations, business development, and marketing, and will contribute to UniTaskr's strategic direction as the company expands internationally. The organisation's activities over the last 24 months have included broadening its reach beyond the UK and entering the US market.
Joseph Black, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at UniTaskr, said:
"Jenny's enthusiasm for the industry and supporting young people completely aligns with our founding purpose of helping students earn, upskill and access meaningful opportunities in the changing world of work. It's an exciting time for the business and we're certain Jenny will be a real asset in helping us grow further."
Oliver Jacobs, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at UniTaskr, also commented:
"Jenny's extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we continue to navigate the changing job market and create new bridges between education and industry. This is an exciting opportunity to create even more pathways for young people, and we're delighted to have her on board."
UniTaskr has established a multi-platform system that supports employment opportunities and collaboration between brands and students. Since its foundation, the company has aimed to address the transition from education to employment by providing practical work experiences for students through its platform. The expansion into the US forms part of UniTaskr's broader strategy to increase its international footprint and impact.
The "24 Under 24" campaign is among the key initiatives Jenny Welsh will lead, seeking to spotlight young talent and strengthen links between students and potential employers. The campaign reflects UniTaskr's ongoing focus on skills development and enhancing employability for its student users.
