Today

Matthew Winter has been appointed as the new Head of Engineering at Prophet.

Prophet, which offers a Commercial Mix Modelling (CMM) platform, is incorporating Winter's extensive expertise in analytics, databases, and cloud technology as the business continues to expand. Winter's role will be pivotal in enhancing the platform's data ingestion capabilities.

Winter previously worked at Google Cloud, where he served as Principal Architect, directing and delivering data transformation and machine learning operations to enterprise customers. His professional background spans over two decades, including positions at Microsoft, as a Senior Program Manager, and various roles at cloud and data consultancy Servian, The Just Group, Medibank Private, Barclays Bank, Vodafone, and TNT.

Since its debut earlier this year, Prophet has seen rapid growth, attracting clients from diverse sectors such as retail, insurance, automotive, and cyber security. The company's unique platform has drawn significant interest, leading to a USD $5 million seed funding round.

Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Prophet, Winter stated, "I've worked in Australia's technology field for more than 15 years, so I've had a front-row seat to some of the nation's most innovative technical solutions, and Prophet's offering is truly next level." He described the company's approach as "forward-thinking and highly sophisticated," adding, "it's a fantastic space to work in for someone who thrives on transformative, revolutionary technology."

Prophet's platform utilises advanced mathematics and predictive intelligence to assist businesses in navigating the complexities of marketing strategies. Winter will focus on optimising the platform's data ingestion product, ensuring clients can integrate their organisational DNA securely and efficiently.

Jordan Taylor-Bartels, Prophet's CEO and co-founder, highlighted Winter's expertise, stating, "Matt's expertise in data engineering and solution architecture will enable us to ingest critical organisational DNA, that is their data, into Prophet with world-class speed and precision." He also noted the importance of Prophet's cloning technology in aiding CMOs and brands to better understand their marketing effectiveness and enhance predictive forecasting.

Winter's experience extends beyond technical roles; he has also played a mentoring role in technology start-ups. Taylor-Bartels commented, "Matt has a unique understanding of what Prophet needs as we continue to rapidly grow. He is well-versed in both the technical side of scale-up culture, but also how to work with customers to drive results."

Prophet was founded by Jordan Taylor-Bartels and Sean Taylor, and the company draws on talents from prestigious organisations including NASA, SpaceX, and Deloitte. Recently, Prophet also appointed Hamish Mogan as its COO, who previously led marketing science for Meta in the retail and e-commerce sector across Australia and New Zealand.
