Optimizely has announced the launch of its latest content management system, CMS 13, at the annual Opticon event in Stockholm. The event marks the company's 30th anniversary and returns to the city of its origin.
Alex Atzberger, CEO of Optimizely, highlighted the significance of the event, saying, "This year's Opticon is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 30th anniversary right here in Stockholm, where it all began. In our journey from a Swedish CMS startup to a multi-solution global DXP leader, we never deviated from our focus on innovation and making life better for marketers. Our best-in-class solution portfolio and customer base has never been stronger, so we can't wait for the next 30 years of customer-driven innovation."
The launch of CMS 13 offers a range of enhancements to simplify content creation and management for marketers. New features include a visual builder for drag-and-drop content creation, upgrades to Optimizely Graph for better data management, improved digital asset management (DAM) integration, and updates to the administrative centre to provide an intuitive user interface. Additionally, the system offers flexible content delivery options, including headless CMS and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions.
Since the introduction of Optimizely One, the company has experienced substantial growth. Optimizely has surpassed USD $400 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), with a 21% year-over-year growth in multiproduct ARR. Over 150 customers have adopted Optimizely CMS since early 2023, marking a more than 20% growth compared to the previous year. The new SaaS CMS launched in July aims to give marketers greater flexibility by allowing them to choose between SaaS and PaaS solutions based on their needs.
The significant enhancements and new features in CMS 13 are designed to meet the evolving needs of marketers. "Optimizely continues to build on the legacy it established three decades ago," added Atzberger. "Through ongoing enhancements and refinements to its industry-leading PaaS solution and the introduction of its SaaS solution, we aim to provide marketers with the tools they need to manage increasingly complex content supply chains efficiently."
The annual Opticon event gathers a diverse group of 1,200 technology, business, and marketing leaders to engage in keynotes, masterclasses, hands-on workshops, and demo booths. This year's theme is "Welcome to Onederland," focusing on creating tailored solutions for marketers. Diamond sponsor Valtech and Gold sponsors Contentsquare and Epinova support the event.
Opticon 2024 marks a year of innovation and growth for Optimizely. The company has broadened its portfolio to include solutions ranging from experimentation to e-commerce and digital experience platforms while still remaining firmly rooted in its core content management system (CMS) services.
This launch and the details shared during Opticon reflect Optimizely's ongoing commitment to advancing the marketing lifecycle through user-centric solutions. Alex Atzberger concluded, "We never deviated from our focus on innovation and making life better for marketers."
