Celonis reveals AgentC to enhance AI with process insight

Thu, 24th Oct 2024

In an exciting announcement, Celonis has introduced AgentC - a suite designed to enhance AI agents with process intelligence for enterprise applications.

Celonis AgentC includes AI agent tools, integrations, and partnerships enabling users to develop AI agents on prominent platforms. These agents, which can also be pre-built by partners, benefit from Celonis Process Intelligence, providing insight into business operations and improving efficiency.

"There's a clear gap between AI's promise and what it's delivering for enterprises," said Alex Rinke, co-CEO and co-founder of Celonis. "LLMs are impressive, but companies struggle to have them provide tangible business impact. Agents can automate workloads, but they lack the business understanding to do it effectively."

"To close this gap, enterprise AI needs process intelligence—built with the process data and business context that only Celonis provides. AgentC ensures every agent our community creates is equipped with the business knowledge required to drive the right actions and outcomes."

AgentC includes integrations with platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio, IBM watsonx Orchestrate, and Amazon Bedrock Agents, as well as open-source developer environments like CrewAI. Pre-built AI agents from ISV partners, Rollio and Hypatos, are available, with consulting support from companies like Accenture, IBM Consulting, and EY for agent development.

Celonis also launched its AI Assistant Builder within AgentC, allowing customers to create AI assistants capable of tasks such as data classification and providing strategic recommendations, such as prioritising customer service tickets.

Rafael Domene, Global CIO at Cosentino, a manufacturer of design and architectural surfaces, spoke about their use of Celonis tools: "Like Celonis, Cosentino has always been a leader in technical innovation. Implementing Celonis AI Assistant for credit block management has been a game changer for our order management operations, streamlining our processes and resulting in faster, more reliable outcomes. This innovation underscores our enduring commitment to drive business success by leveraging advanced technology, like AI."

Cosentino utilises an AI Assistant developed with Celonis to process multiple sales orders efficiently, demonstrating tangible benefits of process intelligence in business operations.

"Understanding the intricacies of processes and their interdependencies is crucial to achieving effective AI-driven digital transformation," commented Maureen Fleming, Program Vice President for Intelligent Process Automation at IDC. "Without process data and business context, organizations struggle to implement AI solutions that deliver meaningful ROI and operational improvements. This makes process intelligence foundational for businesses aiming to scale agentic AI deployments successfully and achieve positive strategic outcomes."

Other examples of AI agents utilising Celonis Process Intelligence include a European packaging company that built a co-pilot for inventory management, and a multinational construction material provider using AI to automate ERP updates and responses.

A global consumer goods company employs an AI agent to recommend actions for accounts payable, while a global car manufacturer uses the technology to automate supplier inquiry responses. A global technology company uses AI to improve customer funding request processes by predicting rejection probabilities and advising on corrective actions.

In addition to AgentC, Celonis also announced innovations such as Celonis Data Core for improved data ingestion, a GenAI-powered user experience, and Networks to optimize processes across companies, alongside new applications in various industries.
