Dolphin Dynamics has partnered with Ecommpay to add the payments provider's platform to its travel technology system, giving clients access to multi-currency payment options.

The integration is aimed at travel agents, tour operators and travel management companies using Dolphin Dynamics software for reservations, customer management, back-office functions and booking engines. The UK-based company supports travel businesses in more than 15 countries.

Under the arrangement, customers making a payment are directed to Ecommpay's hosted payment page, where their details are entered and processed within Ecommpay's system. Dolphin Dynamics then uses Ecommpay's API to retrieve the payment status, update the booking and register the payment within its own platform.

This means payment activity can be reflected in the booking workflow and recorded alongside related operational and financial processes, linking the payment stage with wider booking management.

Travel focus

Dolphin Dynamics provides a central system for managing bookings and related administration for travel businesses ranging from independent agencies to multinational groups. Its customers include leisure travel agencies, tour operators and corporate travel firms.

Ecommpay, founded in London in 2012, provides acquiring services, payment processing and access to more than 100 payment methods through a single API. The partnership also gives Dolphin Dynamics clients access to its risk and authorisation tools.

The travel sector often has to manage payments across borders, currencies and local payment preferences while linking transactions back to booking and finance systems. By embedding an external payments platform into an existing travel workflow, the partnership is intended to reduce manual reconciliation and give travel companies a clearer view of payment status during the booking process.

Chuck Richardson, Managing Director, Dolphin Dynamics, said: "Our aim is to simplify back-office processes for our travel clients, ensuring every stage of the customer journey runs smoothly and without friction. To achieve this goal, we carefully select specialists that will deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. Ecommpay delivers secure and accessible payments across borders and in all currencies, allowing our clients' customers to pay using their preferred payment methods. This boosts conversions and profitability by increasing confidence and convenience and supports a positive booking experience, from research to booking confirmation."

Sector expansion

For Ecommpay, the agreement adds another travel and hospitality relationship, where software providers often seek payment services that can be integrated into booking systems used by multiple operators. The arrangement extends its presence in that part of the market.

Roy Blokker of Ecommpay said: "This partnership deepens our footprint within the travel and hospitality sector, where we work with specialist travel-tech providers who need affordable access to multi-currency acceptance and conversion. Our inclusive and accessible payments platform ensures all payments are secure and compliant, regardless of region or currency. Dolphin Dynamics helps travel operators of all sizes to optimise processes and grow sales by streamlining back-office systems, and now the payment stage of the checkout journey can run as smoothly as the rest of the experience, without adding complexity for the travel operator."

Dolphin Dynamics has operated since 1996 and serves a mix of travel companies, including independent agencies, specialist tour operators and larger multi-branch businesses. Named customers include Destination 2, Dawson & Sanderson, USAirtours, Osprey Holidays, Diversity Travel, Carrier, Profil Rejser, Azure and Oasis Travel.

The partnership brings together a booking and administration software supplier and a payments company offering local and alternative payment methods in multiple currencies through a hosted checkout model and API connection.
