eCapital UK has appointed Camilla Woodrow as Head of HR as the invoice finance provider expands its UK business.

She will lead the HR function across the business and work with the senior leadership team on people strategy. Her remit covers the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, development and retention.

The appointment follows a period of growth for eCapital UK. Over the past three years, funds advanced to clients rose by 46% and its client base increased by more than 32%, according to the company.

During that period, the lender also moved into larger funding facilities of up to £6 million. Those facilities have supported small and mid-sized businesses seeking working capital for expansion and day-to-day operations, it said.

Woodrow brings 25 years of human resources experience, including two decades in senior HR leadership roles. Her previous positions include Glide UK and The HR Dept, where she worked on people strategy, cultural change and team development.

The hire adds senior HR leadership as eCapital UK seeks to align headcount and internal processes with commercial growth. The company operates in invoice finance and asset-based lending, serving small and medium-sized businesses across the UK.

Its UK business has more than 20 years of market experience and operates from five regional offices across England, Scotland and Wales. It works across sectors including food and beverage, recruitment, HR, transport and manufacturing, according to the company.

Woodrow said: "eCapital UK is an ambitious and growing business with a strong focus on its people and its future. I'm delighted to be joining the team at such an exciting time and look forward to working with colleagues across the business to build on the great foundations already in place. My focus will be on ensuring our people strategy continues to support our commercial ambitions, while creating an environment where colleagues can thrive and deliver their best work."

Lisa Cleaver, Chief Operating Officer at eCapital Commercial Finance UK, said the appointment comes at a key point for the business.

Cleaver said: "We are delighted to welcome Camilla to eCapital UK at a pivotal stage in our growth journey. Her breadth of HR leadership experience and proven ability to develop effective people strategies will be invaluable as we continue to scale our business. Camilla's appointment reinforces our commitment to investing in our people and ensuring we have the right culture, capabilities and support in place to achieve our ambitions."

eCapital UK is part of eCapital Corp, which operates in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. In the UK, the business focuses on invoice finance, asset-based lending and other working capital products for SMEs.

The latest senior hire signals a push to formalise people management as the business grows in size and deal complexity. Its recent expansion into funding lines of up to £6 million marks a shift towards serving larger and more complex borrowing needs.

That growth has increased the need for staff development and retention across the organisation. Cleaver said Woodrow's experience in shaping people strategies would be important as the company continues to scale.
