Planday rebuilds website with Hygraph & Blazity for global growth

Tue, 5th Aug 2025

Planday is working with Hygraph and Blazity to replatform its website and enhance its ability to deliver localised, scalable digital experiences for its shift-based business customers.

The workforce management provider has initiated a project to migrate its website using Hygraph's headless content management system (CMS), with support from implementation partner Blazity. The move is part of Planday's effort to consolidate content management across eight markets and to offer both self-service and personalised experiences to different customer segments.

Content management for scale

As Planday's international presence grows, the company identified the need for a more flexible solution to manage content in multiple languages and regions. Central to this objective is Hygraph's headless CMS, which allows content to be structured once and then reused or localised across all supported markets.

The adoption of a modular content architecture is designed to enable quicker content updates and allow Planday's internal teams - ranging from product marketing to legal and translation - to collaborate with fewer manual tasks and improved version control. According to the company, this will help reduce operational overhead and streamline workflows.

"Hygraph gives us the flexibility to manage localisation more efficiently, while Blazity has been a true partner in bringing this new platform to life." - Sarah Haddon, VP of Growth, Planday

Haddon added that matching content operations with market expansion is essential for the company's go-to-market strategy: "As we scale into new markets, it's critical that our content operations keep pace. Hygraph gives us the flexibility to manage localisation more efficiently, while Blazity has been a true partner in bringing this new platform to life. We're excited to build a content foundation that supports both our self-serve strategy and deeper engagement with larger customers."

Supporting self-service and personalisation

The new system is tailored to accommodate Planday's shift toward a fully self-service model for some customer groups, while also supporting segmented and personalised content for larger clients.

The multi-locale support features of Hygraph allow Planday to lower translation bottlenecks and maintain greater consistency in its messaging. By creating a single source of truth for content, Planday aims to accelerate the rollout of updates and reduce instances of duplicated work.

Implementation led by Blazity

Technology consultancy and verified Hygraph partner Blazity is overseeing the migration and technical integration of the new platform. The project features a phased rollout to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted content delivery for customers in all eight markets.

Michael Lukaszczyk, Chief Executive Officer at Hygraph, welcomed the partnership:

"We're proud to support Planday as they take a more modular, scalable approach to content," says Michael Lukaszczyk, CEO at Hygraph. "Their vision for localised, self-serve experiences is exactly the kind of challenge Hygraph is built to solve and with Blazity's expertise on implementation, the results will be transformative."

Operational improvements

Planday said key benefits of the new setup include centralising content management, reducing translation delays, empowering internal teams with greater autonomy, and streamlining collaboration across departments.

The company serves thousands of shift-based businesses across Europe and is part of the Xero group. Through this replatforming project, it aims to create more tailored, efficient digital experiences for its international customer base and equip its teams to adapt content quickly to market needs.

The phased implementation is ongoing with support from both Hygraph and Blazity.
