Progress unveils Agentic RAG for Sitefinity to drive AI-led content
Progress Software has introduced an early access programme for its Agentic RAG for Sitefinity, a new set of enterprise capabilities that blends retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with real-time content assembly on the Sitefinity digital experience platform.
AI in content
The Agentic RAG for Sitefinity enables dynamic content delivery tailored to individual user prompts. The system brings together multilingual agentic RAG-based AI and the Sitefinity environment, which interprets user intent and context to provide answers drawn from approved enterprise sources.
It also includes governance, source traceability, and compliance controls, aiming to address business needs around accountability and information security. The tool allows organisations to move beyond static web pages and manual personalisation efforts, automating content assembly from their own repositories in real time.
Optimising for LLMs
The new features have also been designed to support generative engine optimisation (GEO), helping organisations increase the visibility of their content within large language models. This aims to respond to changes in how users expect to access verified, immediate answers online, as opposed to browsing static sites or documents.
Progress claims Agentic RAG for Sitefinity can transform static repositories such as portals and document stores into adaptive digital journeys, with the system generating responses based on live user interactions. Organisations can adopt this approach to synchronise context, content, and user needs, while retaining controls over brand management and regulatory compliance.
Customer perspective
"Progress is redefining what's possible with Sitefinity-introducing adaptive, AI-driven experiences that respond in real time to each user's context and intent. This innovation gives organisations like ours a distinct advantage: the ability to deepen engagement, personalise at scale and stand apart in a crowded digital space. We're proud to be part of this next chapter," said Rick van Emmerik, Chief Marketing Officer, Tangerine Telecom.
Market trend
Industry trends highlight a shift in digital experience management as companies look for ways to use AI to increase relevance and engagement with their audiences. With rapid AI adoption across sectors, there is demand for solutions that bridge the gap between enterprise knowledge stores and emerging user expectations shaped by conversational AI platforms.
Agentic RAG for Sitefinity is described as providing a unified, AI-driven engine for producing digital experiences. By integrating content assembly with advanced retrieval systems, it seeks to address the challenge faced by organisations with large, disparate information holdings needing real-time access and personalisation.
Technology outlook
The Sitefinity platform's latest capability is positioned to serve enterprises seeking to modernise their digital experiences and align with the growing presence of AI-first content consumption. The solution is currently available via an early access programme.
"AI has fundamentally changed the way people access information. As a result, traditional websites with pre-structured content will soon be obsolete," said Loren Jarrett, EVP & GM, Digital Experience, Progress Software. "Organisations need to provide a modern prompt-driven, totally dynamic information experience for their website visitors, and Progress Agentic RAG for Sitefinity makes this a reality."
