Tue, 28th Oct 2025

The Marketing Centre has raised over GBP £10,000 for children's charities through participation in a global Challenge for Change initiative.

A total of 41 colleagues from The Marketing Centre across the UK contributed to the challenge by walking, cycling and swimming, ultimately covering 8,400 kilometres. This local effort formed part of a wider global initiative, with the worldwide fundraising total reaching over GBP £40,000 to date.

Funds raised through the Challenge for Change will be allocated towards providing essential educational, healthcare and emotional support for vulnerable children. The initiative aims to offer tangible benefits through a combination of physical activity and community spirit, united by the broader goal of supporting children in need.

Participants at The Marketing Centre engaged in a variety of activities during the challenge, from everyday walks in local areas to longer cycling journeys and swimming sessions. This served not only to raise money for the charities involved but also to encourage staff wellbeing and a sense of purpose.

According to The Marketing Centre, the broader impact of the Challenge for Change extended beyond philanthropy. The organisation highlighted the improved sense of connection and collective achievement fostered amongst staff members, noting that participants supported each other by sharing their personal progress and integrating more activity into their daily routines.

The experience of taking part created lasting memories, while reinforcing the value of wellbeing and community within the organisation. Team members reported feeling motivated, encouraged, and supported by their colleagues, underlining the positive effect that shared goals and teamwork can have.

Team reflections

David Fenton, founder of Challenge for Change Global and Regional Director with The Marketing Centre, said:

"It was an incredible month of collaboration and shared purpose. We came together not just to raise money for worthy causes, but to support and motivate each other every step of the way. The energy, laughter and camaraderie across the team was truly inspiring, and we're so grateful to everyone who took part."

The challenge came to involve a diverse mix of activities and levels of physical exertion, demonstrating a flexible approach to participation that allowed individuals to contribute in a way that suited their circumstances and abilities.

Wider impact

The collective results achieved by The Marketing Centre contributed towards the international Challenge for Change fundraising total, which continues to grow. The funds are directed to multiple children's charities, delivering support in areas such as education, health, and emotional wellbeing.

Alongside their fundraising, participants expressed pride in how small, everyday actions contributed to a larger project. The Marketing Centre's team cited collective motivation and mutual encouragement as central factors in the group's success.

The Marketing Centre's involvement in the initiative forms part of the company's broader commitment to supporting community welfare and employee wellbeing, alongside its core professional activities. The approach was highlighted as one that balances business objectives with a focus on social contribution and staff engagement.

The Challenge for Change initiative is structured to emphasise unity and wellbeing, aiming to engage individuals and teams globally in support of charitable causes. Organisers and participants alike have underlined the value of coming together with a shared objective, seeing direct outcomes for both those giving and those receiving support.
