Tuned Global acquires Figaro.ai to boost AI music discovery tools

Tuned Global has acquired London-based audio AI company Figaro.ai, aiming to enhance the intelligence and discoverability of music catalogues on its cloud platform.

The move forms part of Tuned Global's ongoing strategy to strengthen its open ecosystem for music and audio solutions, integrating artificial intelligence to expedite innovation and improve engagement for its clients, which include Line Music, UFC and Gabb Wireless.

Acquisition strategy

Figaro.ai, created by FeedForward, is recognised for its AI-powered tagging and music recommendation technology. Tuned Global's decision to acquire the company follows its earlier purchase of Pacemaker, which is known for its AI-driven music mixing technology. These acquisitions coalesce around a strategy focused on driving AI-based discovery, rights management, and engagement capabilities within the music and audio industry.

Integration and support

Figaro.ai will operate as an integrated yet distinct component within Tuned Global's wider technology platform. The aim is to ensure continuity and support for current Figaro.ai clients, while allowing Tuned Global's other partners and clients access to expanded capabilities. The Figaro.ai team, including founders Lydia Gregory and Kevin Webster, will be incorporated into Tuned Global, contributing their expertise in audio AI to future projects.
