Agoda has launched a multi-product booking engine that allows travellers to book hotels, flights and activities through a single checkout process, as travel platforms compete to simplify trip planning and reduce booking friction.

The new system combines different travel components into one transaction. Users can complete bookings in a single flow rather than managing separate payment and confirmation processes for accommodation, flights and activities.

Agoda said all booked components are then grouped together in the My Trips section of its platform. Travellers can organise itineraries, review bookings and rename trips for easier management.

Travel platforms have increasingly focused on integrated booking experiences as online travel demand shifts toward mobile-first trip planning. Consolidating travel services into one checkout is also aimed at reducing cart abandonment and simplifying post-booking management for consumers.

Payment flow

Behind the platform, Agoda said the booking engine coordinates with multiple suppliers while handling payment processing, fraud checks and inventory confirmation within a single workflow.

The company said the system produces one checkout process, one confirmation and one place for travellers to manage an entire trip.

Travel booking systems often rely on separate supplier infrastructures across hotels, airlines and activity operators. Integrating those systems into a unified transaction flow presents operational challenges around inventory availability, payment reconciliation and regional compliance requirements.

Agoda said the booking engine was designed to work across its supplier network while adapting to regional variations and supplier requirements.

The company operates across accommodation, flights and travel activities. Agoda said its platform currently offers more than 6 million holiday properties, 130,000 flight routes and 300,000 activities.

User focus

The launch reflects broader competition among online travel platforms to increase customer retention by keeping travellers within a single ecosystem for trip planning and booking.

Integrated travel booking also provides platforms with more visibility across traveller preferences and purchasing behaviour, which can influence cross-selling and personalised recommendations.

"Travellers want simplicity and convenience. They shouldn't need to manage separate bookings, payment processes, and confirmations. By bringing flights, accommodation, and activities into a single booking flow, we're making it easier to plan and manage trips from start to finish, while handling the complexity behind the scenes," said Idan Zalzberg, Chief Technology Officer, Agoda.

Regional scale

The booking engine is designed to operate across Agoda's global network while maintaining a consistent booking experience regardless of destination or supplier combination.

Regional travel markets often involve differing payment methods, local supplier systems and booking requirements. Travel platforms operating internationally typically need to account for local regulations, currency handling and inventory management standards.

Agoda said the system adapts to different supplier requirements while preserving a unified user experience across markets.

The company's platform is available through its website and mobile application. Agoda said its inventory includes accommodation listings, flight routes and travel activities across global markets.
