AliExpress launches UK summer sale with up to 80% off

Mon, 8th Jun 2026 (Today)

AliExpress has launched a summer sale in the UK, offering discounts of up to 80% on home, garden and consumer technology products.

The promotion comes alongside research from the marketplace showing that 86% of UK consumers are concerned about how the rising cost of living will affect household budgets for leisure and shopping. Among millennials, the figure rises to 90%, while 46% say they are very concerned about their spending power.

The sale covers a range of products, including home items, electronic appliances, wearables and travel-related goods. AliExpress highlighted savings of more than £200 on a multifunctional vacuum and hot water cleaner, which has sold more than 10,000 units.

It is also using the sale to promote its Brand+ price guarantee, which applies to more than 2,000 brands. Under the scheme, eligible customers can claim a refund of the price difference if they find an identical item at a lower price on Amazon, eBay, Shein or Temu.

The latest figures suggest many shoppers are scrutinising branded goods more closely. According to AliExpress, the average consumer believes more than one-third of the price of premium electronics goes towards "logo and status" rather than the underlying technology, while 21% believe they are paying more than half the retail price for the brand name.

Those views appear to be shaping how people assess unfamiliar products. In the survey, 41% of respondents said they would need a high volume of reviews rated 4.5 stars or above before trusting a new technology brand claiming to match or outperform a market leader. Another 38% said a UK-based warranty was important, while 35% pointed to a money-back guarantee.

Holiday spending

Despite pressure on household finances, the research indicates that summer travel plans remain intact for many consumers. AliExpress found that 63% of Britons still plan to take a leisure holiday during the summer, with an average budget of £1,405 per person.

Even so, most travellers said cost pressures were affecting those plans. The survey found that 65% said budget constraints had limited or changed their summer travel arrangements, with 34% planning a UK road trip and 26% opting for a staycation close to home.

Budgeting concerns, value for money and transport costs were identified as the top three challenges facing holidaymakers. The research also found that consumers were preparing for their trips on a relatively short timeline, buying holiday items around three weeks in advance on average.

That pattern is likely to support demand for last-minute online purchases. Shoppers were most likely to buy fashion accessories, swimwear and technology accessories such as power banks and universal adapters through online marketplaces.

Finch Li, General Manager of AliExpress UK, said: "As UK households face ongoing cost-of-living pressures, we are seeing a profound shift in consumer behaviour. British shoppers are increasingly savvy; they are assessing the actual value and functionality of what they buy. Whether it's choosing high-specification, lesser-known brands to save on technology, they won't compromise on what they want and are finding smart ways to make their money go further."

The marketplace is featuring products from brands including Xiaomi, Anker, DEWALT, THINKCAR and Li-Ning as part of the promotion. The sale is centred on household goods, leisure products and technology items, categories that tend to see stronger online demand during the summer shopping period.

AliExpress is part of Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group and operates in more than 200 countries and regions. Its UK offer is designed to appeal to shoppers weighing brand recognition against price, reviews and refund protections.

Finch Li, General Manager of AliExpress UK, said: "At AliExpress, we are committed to meeting consumer demand by providing direct access to quality, high-performance products at competitive prices, backed by robust customer service and guarantees, helping Brits enjoy their summer without compromising on quality."
