Loganair’s festive ad features puffin family journey home

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

Loganair has released a new animated Christmas advert featuring a puffin family's journey across the UK to reunite for the festive season. The campaign draws on the airline's Scottish identity and focuses on the importance of homecoming.

Animated story

The advertisement, titled The Nest, follows puffins traveling from Cornwall, through London, over Edinburgh and finally arriving in Shetland. This journey brings to life several locations served by Loganair. The film's tagline is "Together is the greatest gift." The animation draws on Scotland's landscape and the airline's connection to remote island communities.

Scottish roots

Loganair specifically chose puffins for their role in the campaign due to the bird's strong association with Scotland. Puffins are native to several Scottish islands, some of which are directly connected by the airline's routes. The advert's visual storytelling showcases the natural environment and communities linked by Loganair's network.

Customer focus

"The Nest encapsulates what this season means to so many of our customers: the joy of coming home. As the UK's leading regional airline, our role goes far beyond simply getting people from A to B," said Lyn MacDonald, Director of Marketing, Communications and Product, Loganair.

"We're part of the journeys that matter, whether it's reuniting families across the UK, visiting loved ones, reconnecting with friends, or returning to familiar places. Just like the puffins, our customers travel far and wide, but there's no feeling quite like returning home. That's what makes this campaign so powerful, and we hope it captures a moment everyone can relate to," said MacDonald.

Service record

Earlier this year, a Which? survey ranked Loganair second among short-haul airlines, awarding the company a 72% score, with five stars for customer service and four stars for booking, boarding and cleanliness. The airline was also recognised as the most punctual for UK arrivals and departures in the second quarter of 2025, with 86% of flights arriving and departing on time, according to UK Civil Aviation Authority data.

Passenger offering

Loganair passengers receive a 21kg luggage allowance as standard. The airline offers a network across the UK and onward travel through partnerships with other carriers.
