Qualtrics has unveiled its XM Data & AI Platform, which will be available in 2027.

The launch expands Qualtrics' experience management strategy with a single platform designed to bring together customer, employee, product and brand data. It also introduced two products now available: the Experience Loop Diagnostic Service and Reputation Experience.

Qualtrics is seeking to address what it describes as an "Experience Gap" between customer expectations and what businesses deliver. It cited an estimate that nearly USD $3 trillion in sales is at risk from poor customer experiences, arguing that many organisations lack systems that let them respond quickly enough.

At the centre of the strategy is a platform that combines existing experience data with AI tools intended to help organisations test decisions, anticipate behaviour and act within defined rules. The system is built on Qualtrics' own experience dataset, gathered over more than two decades across 18,000 organisations.

The dataset was further expanded through the USD $6.75 billion acquisition of Press Ganey Forsta. According to Qualtrics, the deal added decades of healthcare data and governance processes from more than 41,000 facilities, broadening the data used by the platform.

Platform design

The XM Data & AI Platform is intended to replace separate listening tools, survey applications and static data hubs with a single system. It adds three functions: simulation, prediction and what Qualtrics calls trusted outcomes.

Simulation is designed to let organisations test likely responses before making decisions. This includes generating synthetic data and creating digital twins of customers to assess how pricing, policy or product changes may be received before they are introduced.

Prediction focuses on individuals rather than broader groups. Qualtrics said small language models trained on its proprietary datasets are intended to estimate how a specific person is likely to respond, and how experience management decisions could affect engagement, satisfaction and lifetime value.

The third element, trusted outcomes, serves as a governance layer. Qualtrics said actions are checked against an organisation's rules and policies before they reach a customer, and that customer data remains within that organisation's environment rather than being used to train shared models.

Experience loops

Qualtrics is also framing its broader approach around what it calls Experience Loops, or X-loops. Rather than mapping a customer journey as a fixed path with an end point, the company argues that organisations should manage a continuous cycle covering customer acquisition, retention and growth.

Within those loops are what Qualtrics calls X-moments, the points at which interactions have the greatest effect on future value. It said its experience ontology provides the context needed to interpret signals, identify where they sit in a lifecycle and determine the next action.

Jason Maynard, Chief Executive Officer of Qualtrics, set out the company's case for the shift. "Experience has always been the strategy every leader believed in, but unfortunately the technology wasn't available to execute at scale," he said.

"Customer lifetime value determines how a company performs over time, and experience is what builds and compounds that value. XM Data & AI is how organizations deliver legendary outcomes in the moments that matter."

Customer use

Qualtrics pointed to early customer work as evidence of demand for more automated experience management tools. SiriusXM is among the companies working with the group on its approach.

"It's not enough to know what's resonating after the fact," said Steve Lilly, Director of Customer Experience at SiriusXM. "The organizations that win are the ones that can hear signals across every touchpoint and act on it in real time. That's why we're working with Qualtrics to transform our approach to experience management."

Qualtrics also cited results from TruGreen, which it said deployed Experience Agents across millions of customer interactions. According to the company, that work generated USD $7 million in return on investment from closed-loop feedback with automated responses, a 30 per cent reduction in customer escalations, and USD $30 million in total return on investment across digital optimisation, retention and churn prevention.

Available now

Alongside the 2027 platform launch, Qualtrics introduced two offerings that are already available. The Experience Loop Diagnostic Service is intended to help clients map the customer lifecycle, identify missing data and uncover disconnected systems.

Qualtrics said the service produces a relationship map of how an experience operates, a visual model showing which moments carry the most weight, and a governance plan for activation. That output can then feed into the experience ontology used by its wider XM system.

Reputation Experience focuses on public customer feedback. Qualtrics said it brings review and listing management into the XM suite, allowing businesses to keep location and contact information accurate across websites and local pages while managing responses on platforms including Google, Yelp and Facebook.

Survey responses already collected by brands can also be turned into verified ratings that search engines and AI assistants can read and use, according to the company.
