Red Bull Racing upgrades HQ with new weatherproof LED displays
Oracle Red Bull Racing has expanded its use of digital signage at its Milton Keynes headquarters, installing two new weather-resistant dvLED displays at the main entrance and the MK-7 event venue. This development follows a series of previous upgrades at the Red Bull Technology Campus using Philips Professional Displays, aiming to enhance visitor engagement and improve operational sustainability.
Main entrance upgrade
The Red Bull Technology Campus, which covers over 700,000 square feet and accommodates a range of organisations and activities, receives visitors from across the globe. The new Philips Public LED 7000 Series displays have been positioned to greet vehicles after they pass through security, as well as at the entrance to the MK-7 venue, an area with high visitor traffic.
Replacing traditional signage, the new display solution is designed to improve both information delivery and branding. Security and visibility were noted as critical requirements in the selection and installation process.
Weatherproof solutions
The displays required protection from outdoor conditions, with Milton Keynes experiencing significant rainfall each year. In response, customised protective housings were constructed in partnership with VEBO Digital Signage Solutions, ensuring durability and reliability for the installations. The cabinets stand nearly three metres tall and are branded with Oracle Red Bull Racing's colours.
These dvLED displays feature an IP30 rating and conformal coating to guard against moisture and other environmental hazards, ensuring a dependable operation in all weather conditions.
Performance and control
The Philips Public LED 7000 Series was selected for its brightness and image clarity, addressing the necessity for high visibility in any lighting. The displays are capable of presenting detailed colour and contrast to effectively promote the Oracle Red Bull Racing brand and communicate event information.
Content management is handled via Novastar controllers and DS Templates CMS. This enables staff to create, schedule, and update content for welcoming guests, acknowledging partners, or delivering tailored messages for different happenings at the campus.
Focus on sustainability
Reducing environmental impact was identified as a priority for Oracle Red Bull Racing. The Philips Public LED 7000 Series provides energy-saving features designed to lower power consumption and the overall cost of operation. Maintenance requirements have also been streamlined, with active health monitoring and user-friendly servicing processes built to mirror the efficiency expected in Formula One environments.
