AutoRek has been selected by two UK digital investment platforms to automate their reconciliation processes. The platforms serve more than 3.3 million customers and oversee more than £140 billion in client and platform assets.

The deals add to demand for automation tools among investment platforms handling rising transaction volumes and more complex data flows. As retail investor participation increases, firms face pressure to keep records accurate and maintain controls.

Reconciliation is a core back-office process that compares transactions, balances and records across systems. In digital investment businesses, manual handling can become a constraint as customer numbers and trading activity grow, particularly when exceptions and breaks need investigation.

AutoRek said its system is being used to automate reconciliation, exception management and financial controls. It added that its ARIA engine helps teams identify likely matches, detect anomalies and rank items for review, while keeping approval and oversight with staff.

Sector shift

The latest customer wins point to a broader push across the UK digital investment market to make operating models more resilient and easier to scale. Providers are reviewing how to process higher volumes without adding proportionate headcount, especially in control functions.

The trend comes as platforms manage growing flows of customer cash, investment transactions and internal records. Break management and matching accuracy have become more important as firms seek to avoid operational bottlenecks and strengthen governance.

Founded in 1994, AutoRek focuses on reconciliation and financial control processes in financial services. It says it has more than 220 employees across five locations and serves more than 100 clients in 15 countries.

Its work in this market reflects broader spending by financial institutions on systems that reduce manual processing in finance and operations teams. Investment platforms are among the firms reassessing legacy workflows as digital channels bring in more customers and increase the number of transactions passing through operational systems each day.

The new client wins also reflect the scale at which online investment providers now operate in the UK market.

"Digital investment platforms are operating at a scale where manual processes can quickly become a constraint on growth, while the need for robust financial controls only increases as volumes rise," said Martyn Ward, Chief Revenue Officer, AutoRek.

Ward said the latest deals show what buyers are looking for from reconciliation software as platforms expand.

"These customer wins demonstrate the growing demand for reconciliation technology that can handle scale while giving firms greater control, transparency and operational resilience. By automating processes that have traditionally relied heavily on manual intervention, firms can build a stronger operational foundation as their businesses continue to grow," Ward said.
