THG Ingenuity has been appointed Tata Consumer Products' strategic eCommerce partner in the UK for teapigs, Good Earth and Organic India, with the agreement focused on the brands' direct-to-consumer operations.

The partnership covers website development and hosting, fulfilment, customer service and creative work for the three tea and wellness brands. THG Ingenuity said it would combine its THG Commerce, THG Fulfil and THG Studios units to manage the consumer journey from online interaction to delivery.

The move gives Tata Consumer Products added support for its UK direct sales channel as established consumer brands place greater emphasis on reaching shoppers through their own digital platforms alongside traditional retail distribution.

Under the arrangement, THG Commerce will build and run branded direct-to-consumer websites for the portfolio. THG Fulfil will manage fulfilment and customer service for retail consumers and trade partners, while THG Studios will provide creative services for digital marketing across the brands.

The brands named in the deal span premium tea and wellness categories and sit within the wider Tata Consumer Products portfolio, which includes beverage, food and health-focused products sold in multiple markets. In the UK, teapigs has built a presence in specialist and mainstream retail, while Good Earth and Organic India extend the group's reach in tea and wellness.

The appointment also adds a consumer goods client to THG Ingenuity's eCommerce services business. It provides software, operations and fulfilment services to brands seeking to run their own online sales channels rather than rely solely on third-party marketplaces and store networks.

Darren Rajanah, Chief Revenue Officer at THG Ingenuity, described the scope of the agreement in a statement: "We are proud to have been appointed by Tata Consumer Products GB. The collaboration is a true end-to-end partnership, bringing together our integrated commerce, fulfilment, and creative capabilities to deliver an exceptional, seamless experience for their consumers. We look forward to working closely with the Tata team to support their long-term growth ambitions."

For Tata Consumer Products, the focus is on maintaining brand standards across both retail and direct channels. The appointment is intended to strengthen how consumers interact with the three brands online without displacing existing retail relationships.

Mat Bird, Marketing Director at Tata Consumer Products GB, said: "Our brands have been built on quality, trust and strong connections with consumers. Whether consumers discover our brands through retailers or engage with us directly online, it is important that every interaction reflects the high standards our brands are known for. This appointment will help us strengthen the direct-to-consumer experience for teapigs, Good Earth and Organic India, complementing the excellent experience consumers receive through our valued retail partners while supporting the continued growth of our brands."

The UK agreement reflects a broader pattern in consumer goods, with branded manufacturers investing more in their own eCommerce infrastructure to build closer relationships with customers, control presentation and service, and gain more direct insight into buying behaviour. For food, drink and wellness brands, that often means balancing supermarket and specialist retail exposure with subscription, gifting and repeat-purchase models on brand-owned sites.

For THG Ingenuity, the contract also underlines its effort to position itself as a provider of integrated eCommerce services spanning technology, logistics and content production. By tying those elements together under one commercial arrangement, providers in this segment argue they can simplify operations for consumer brands seeking a single partner for digital storefronts, order management and marketing execution.

Tata Consumer Products is part of the Tata Group and has a portfolio that extends beyond tea into coffee, water, ready-to-drink beverages, salt, pulses, spices, cereals, snacks and ready-to-eat products. Its beverage stable includes brands such as Tetley, Tata Tea and Eight O'Clock Coffee alongside teapigs, Good Earth and Organic India.

The latest UK appointment places three of those brands into a managed direct-to-consumer setup designed to support online sales and customer engagement.
